Description of Practice
Lauren LoSchiavo is a highly experienced NJAPM accredited mediator who leads parties through the process from start to finish helping them to make informed decisions that fit the unique needs of their families in the areas of equitable distribution, spousal support, parenting plans, child support, etc.
Ms. LoSchiavo will guide parties through negotiating issues related to their divorce in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. Unlike the traditional divorce process, mediation is a self-determined process that helps parties come to solutions that work best for them. Through the cooperative process of mediation, parties will be provided with an alternative to the acrimonious process of traditional divorce proceedings that are handled through attorneys and the courts. Ms. LoSchiavo helps parties reach equitable solutions to complex issues in a confidential and supportive environment.
Even if attorneys have been retained, mediation is still an option and agreements can be reached in an efficient and affordable manner. Because the parties participate in the mediation process together, post divorce conflict is greatly reduced or eliminated. DMNJ also handles pre/postnuptial agreements, separation agreements, property buyout agreements, etc
She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey as well as a highly regarded NJAPM accredited mediator who has done numerous mediations in the state of New Jersey.
Ms. LoSchiavo received mediation training and accreditation through the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. She most recently completed a webinar for the NJAPM on unique perspectives in mediation and presented at their 2018 annual conference on how to draft a memorandum of understanding .
Ms. LoSchiavo has also been a New York University Graduate Field Instructor and Adjunct Lecturer.
Ms. LoSchiavo maintains a divorce mediation practice as well as a marriage and family therapy practice, in Ramsey, New Jersey. She has years of experience helping couples overcome challenges in their relationships whether they are married or in the process of separation or divorce. Through her extensive work with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced divorce, she has unique insight into how the family court system and litigated divorce process often wreaks havoc on families and relationships for years to come.
At Divorce Mediation of North Jersey (DMNJ), we work hard to help families and couples maintain the good will in their relationships and to work out parenting plans, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities and fair and equitable solutions to the matters that are most important to them.
