Solo law practitioner and certified mediator in Northwest Arkansas for over 25 years.
I have litigated divorces, contested custody actions, big asset divorces, guardianships and grandparent visitation since 1992. In 2005 I became a certified mediator through the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission as mediation is a better way to resolve family issues.
Bachelor of Arts from Hendrix College in 1989 Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, 1992
I am a Facilitative Mediator. I view mediation as a "brain storming" peoxwaa and work with parties to develop different scenarios of solutions particular to their particular case. I am definitely not a "message carrier" mediator who runs back and forth between rooms conveying offers. I actively engage with the parties and their attorneys, if present, and am not afraid to challenge parties with unrealistic expectations. I make sure my clients make educated decisions but they are driving the car and the ultimate decision is theirs.
I charge $100 per hour per party. There is a minimum charge of 1 hour and am happy to do prep work with information you might want me to review and analyze proper to the mediation.
While I make more money acting as a lawyer on behalf of a client, I would much rather make less money by working together with clients and reaching mutually agreeable terms built by the clients.
