Description of Practice

I am a licensed and experienced attorney with a compassionate approach to the resolution of family conflict. I founded Family Centered Law & Mediation to provide families with amicable and affordable conflict resolution options. If you are facing divorce and have children, you need to choose a divorce process that helps you maintain your sense of family, because divorce ends your marriage - not your family. Once divorced, you and your spouse will still need to co-parent effectively; don't engage in divorce litigation - an all out war that drives your family further apart. Choose an alternative process that promotes a healthy family dynamic. Collaborative divorce is a less stressful alternative to divorce litigation. Never step foot in a courtroom. Make decisions while receiving the advice and assistance of an experienced and skilled attorney mediator. Stay in control of the pace and cost of your process. I will empower you to negotiate with your spouse - helping you and your family have a healthy divorce. We can either meet at my office conveniently located across from Grand Central Station, or you can choose to meet with me virtually through an online meeting platform.

Professional Background

I was educated at Georgetown University Law Center where I fell in love with family law, which is the entirety of my practice. In addition to my work in private practice, I have clerked for a family court Judge in Washington D.C., represented parents in the Philadelphia dependency court setting, and advocated for domestic violence survivors in protection order proceedings before the Washington D.C. Superior Court. I have been honored for excellence in clinical fieldwork, as well as for pro bono representation of indigent litigants.

Degrees

Georgetown University Law Center, JD Smith College, BA

Approach

My approach to conflict resolution is a practical and compassionate one. I want to be sure my clients fully understand the decisions they face and reach a lasting agreement. I don't shy away from complexity or detail.

Fees

I offer my clients the option of setting a "Road Map" for their divorce - agreeing to the number of mediation sessions and associated costs in advance. Similar to flat fee billing, the quoted road map price allows clients to budget for their divorce process. Should clients prefer to be charged on an hourly rate at my standard rate of $300/hour.

Other Information

Although I am happy to work with all types of families, I particularly love working with parents of young children.
