Description of Practice

Collaborative Law is a great option in Texas because Texas is such a lawyer driven state; that is, while conference mediation may be preferable, commerce mediation is usually done without lawyers present. Collaborative law is well-designed for Texas because it requires each party to have a lawyer, but it works in a similar way to conference mediation. Unfortunately, collaborative law has not grown tremendously in Texas because lawyers and clients still want the option of going to court. If both parties want to reach an agreement and both want lawyers, then collaborative law is your best option. Hiller Family Law maintains that a good compromise is to use a well – chosen binding arbitrator to run the collaborative law meetings, so that if the parties reach an impasse, the arbitrator can make a decision for them. Then you have the best of both worlds – collaborative law and a decision-maker.

Our fees range from $200-$400 an hour for individual mediators, and from $300-$500 an hour for two(2) co-mediators.
