Description of Practice

Since 1992, I have prioritized resolving disputes outside of court. Even when I was actively litigating, I was mediating and training mediators, both adult and student peer mediators. My cases have included civil disputes, divorces, parenting plans, probate matters and workplace disputes. I was on the U.S. Postal Service panel of mediators from 1994-2009 and have mediated for a variety of institutional as well as private clients.

Professional Background

By profession I am an attorney. My vocation and sole focus, however, is now facilitative mediation. I began mediating in my early 30s before I began law school. I thought then as I do now that helping people resolve their own disputes, via mediation, facilitation or conflict management training, is what I do best and enjoy the most. Even if I won the lottery, I would continue to mediate.

Experience

I have extensive mediation experience including small claims, family law, civil disputes, EEO (USPS), workplace (BLM, US Forest Service, MT Fish, Wildlife and Parks, MT State University, other businesses and institutions). I have also trained mediators since 2000, and trained peer mediators (students) from 1999-2009.

Degrees

Juris Doctor, GA State University School of Law, Atlanta, GA - 1996 Master of Speech & Hearing, Univ. Washington, Seattle, WA - 1983 Bachelor of Arts (Linguistics), UC San Diego, La Jolla, CA - 1979
