Description of Practice

Doing business as PARTNERS IN MEDIATION, INC., my business partner, Dr. M.A. Reis, and I, Barbara Doll, LISW-w, LICDC, have been mediating for over 35 years in the areas of family/divorce, elder care, business, ADA and other areas of mediation. I also mediate regularly for Hamilton County, Ohio, Juvenile Court in never married and dependency cases. Partners In Mediation also trains new mediators in basic, family/divorce and civil mediation several times a year. In addition to the mediation practice, I also has a private therapy practice. Although I do not use therapeutic interventions in mediation, it is sometimes very helpful to have someone experienced and skilled in high conflict discussions to facilitate the mediation. Because there are two highly experienced mediators at Partners In Mediation, we can get you into mediation quickly and conveniently at one of our many available locations. We have also started a program called Saturday Solutions, held on one Saturday a month alternating at our Blue Ash or Cheviot office. The fee for this mediation is greatly reduced fee. $180.00 for a 1.5 hour session. If additional sessions are necessary our full of $180.00 per person per hour is collected.

Professional Background

We have over 1000 hours of mediation training in addition to our own training through Partners In Mediation, Inc. We frequently attend conferences and workshops to keep our mediation skills fresh. As a professional mediator, we believe it is important to keep current with new ideas, techniques and interventions in order to maintain and improve the practice. We also continue to develop new trainings to help our colleagues in the field be the best possible professionals.

Over 50+ combined years of mediation experience in family/divorce, civil, government, Americans With Disability Mediation Project, Community Mediation, truancy mediation, special education mediation. Barbara's specialty in her therapy practice is working with survivors of domestic abuse and trauma. She has advocated for mediators to utilize a screening technique for family/divorce couples in order to keep all parties safe. Dr. Reis has been working in the fields of special education mediation, divorce, truancy and parenting mediation. We are also working to establish a Community Mediation Center for Western Cincinnati.

My undergraduate degree is in Music Education and Music Therapy. I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a supervisory status and am certified as a Independent Licensed Chemical and Alcohol Addiction therapist with a preliminary endorsement in Pathological Gambling Addiction. Dr. Reis has a JD and vast experience in the fields of divorce, civil, education, and truancy mediation.

We believe that all people are capable of making decisions in their own best interest. As experienced and highly skilled mediators, we consider ourselves facilitators of the process. We believe the mediator is responsible for the process and the parties responsible for the outcome. We also believe that it is possible to enhance the capacities of parties who may have some deficits, and thereby appropriately offer the potential of mediation to a larger audience. We appreciate and welcome client's attorneys in the mediation session with the understanding that they are to advise clients of their legal rights and what the court might do with the case.

$360.00 per hour split between the parties. We offer a discounted fee at our Saturday Solutions program help one Saturday a month in our Blue Ash or Cheviot office. This fee is greatly reduced and is simply $180.00 per 1.5 mediation session. Additional sessions revert to the full fee.

Other Information

In addition to our mediation experience, we have also have taken training as parenting co-ordinators and have had 10 years of experience working with parents going through separation or divorce to help parents help children cope with divorce.
