Tazewell T. Hubard, III, J.D., is the owner of Conflict Management Associates, LLC, which provides conflict management services to families and individuals facing decisions involving separation, divorce or marital dissolution, child custody, parenting plans, visitation and access to children, child and spousal support, property division, wills and estates, elder care, health care, family business succession, pre-marital and marital commitment agreements, adoptions, and many other disputes, conflicts or issues involving traditional and non-traditional families and the LGBTQ community.

We also provide facilitation services and training and development, as well as consulting, coaching and the design of conflict management systems services, for businesses, organizations, governments and agencies, academic institutions, financial institutions, military, law enforcement agencies, and health care providers and institutions throughout the United States. A native of Tidewater Virginia, Tazewell graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Richmond School of Law, and served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Tazewell has over 40 years of legal and consulting experience, including serving as a Substitute Judge for 19 years. In addition to his legal career, he has for the past 30 years served as a certified mediator and trainer and organizational consultant.

Tazewell, a Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators, has extensive experience in leading large-scale systems change initiatives around the implementation of dispute resolution systems and other innovations in the workplace. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William & Mary, for over 10 years, teaching Divorce Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution. He is frequently requested to speak on a wide range of conflict resolution issues in both the public and private sectors and has facilitated departmental and policy reform at many educational, military, and governmental institutions and has mediated in excess of 5,500 disputes regarding family, employment and sexual harassment/misconduct, consumer, business and commercial, personal injury and wrongful death, professional malpractice, construction, health care, and labor-union relations.
